THURSDAY THINKTANK: Peter Brabeck-Lemathe, The "Worth It" Chairman



Peter Brabeck-Lemathe, Chairman and former CEO of Nestlé, is on the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group, L'Oréal, and ExxonMobil. He is also a member of ERT (European Round Table of Industrialists) and a member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum.

Today, he hosts the Creating Shared Value Forum in Washington, DC.

Janet Voûte, Nestlé’s Vice President of Public Affairs, explained the purpose of the Forum.

She said: “Since the first event in 2009, Nestlé’s annual Creating Shared Value Forums have provided an important platform for global thought leaders to offer fresh ideas on how business can work together with governments, and NGOs to play a much more engaged and productive role in international development. “From doubling food production by 2050 to feed the estimated future world population of nine billion; to heading off a looming global water crisis; to stemming unacceptable levels of malnutrition and obesity; these are some of the challenges that we all face and need strategies to address.” With an emphasis on Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa, the Forum will focus on.
