WOMEN'S HEALTH WEEK: 4 Pillars of Stress Reduction at Work

When you have an employee like Dwight Shrute, you are bound to develop an ulcer as a coworker or manager.  The Harvard Business Review discovered that people have more of the stress hormone, cortisol, in their saliva, on Monday morning than Sunday morning.  So, this post is dedicated to everyone who has the workday morning blues by focusing on Emotional Intelligence.

"Emotional intelligence in the workplace has four major components:

Self-awareness –The ability to recognize your emotions and their impact while using gut feelings to guide your decisions.

Self-management –The ability to control your emotions and behavior and adapt to changing circumstances.

Social awareness –The ability to sense, understand, and react to other's emotions and feel comfortable socially.

Relationship management –The ability to inspire, influence, and connect to others and manage conflict."
